Track Rules

Yard Kart Rules
Go-Kart Driver

Flat Kart Rules

1. Winner of each heat must stop at scales to weigh and the TOP 3 from the A FEATURE must stop at the scales to weigh. If failure to do so or failure to make weight will result in disqualification from that race.
2. Frame:
  a. Any production/purpose built racing chassis. 
  b. Engine must be mounted beside driver.
  c. Frames must be constructed of steel (no aluminum or conduit tubing).
3. Wheels: Any 5”-6” diameter steel or aluminum wheels.
4. Brakes: Hydraulic disc is required and must stop kart in a safe distance at all times.
5. Weights:
  a. All weights should be painted white and have kart number on them for identification.
  b. All weight added to kart must be bolted.
6. Chain Guards are required – No exceptions
7. Nerf Bars are required and may not protrude past tire sidewall.
8. Front and Rear Bumpers are required. 
  a. Bumpers must be of tubular design (no flat style allowed).
  b. Maximum width of rear bumper may be no wider than tire sidewall to sidewall width.
  c. Maximum width of front bumper may be no wider than frame rails. 
  d. Lowest rail of bumpers may be no higher than 4" from ground. 
9. All drivers must have adequate protection over driver’s feet.

Flat Kart Rules

Powder Puff / Stock Flat Rules

1. Age: 15 & up
2. Weight: 320 for Powder Puff/Stock Flat
3. Engine: ANY Predator 6.5hp 212cc base engine (Ghost 212cc is not allowed) or
the 212 cc Ducar Engine, whether conventional or hemi chambered head. 
4. Restrictor Plate: Un-restricted – No restrictor required.
5. Fuel: 87 octane gas only – No additives.
6. Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue. Must run a muffler. 
7. Clutch: Disc clutches are allowed.
8. Tires: Open tire class. Any tire used for kart racing allowed. No yard kart turf tires.
9. Timing: Timing key is a non-tech
10. NO INTERNAL ALTERATIONS ALLOWED
Any attempt to circumvent these rules by adding a performance enhancing product
example: Replacing stock cam or stock carburetor shall be considered as an intentionally
illegal act and will result in disqualification for that race day and loss of all points up tp that race.
11. Cheating: If you are caught cheating you will lose all points for the season.
Promoter has the option to take any motor at any time for inspection.
12. NO CL1, CL2, CL3 or CL4 Cams allowed. No BSP Cams must run the stock cam that
the motor came with in the box.
13. Stock head gasket ONLY this is a tech component.
14. Cylinder heads may NOT be interchanged between hemi and non-hemi models
15. No machining of head or block.
16. No shroud be used for any reason, all holes must be visible and not obstructed. 
17. The Low Oil Sensor switch may be electrically disconnected, and it may also be
removed if desired.
18. The governor assembly may be removed in its entirety, and if removed the block hole
must be plugged.
19. Exhaust system must be located within the confines of the kart. 
20. It is recommended that the exhaust system be wrapped or sleeved with a heat-resistant
fabric to reduce the risk of burns.
21. Engine Fuel Tank may be located in the stock position or optionally a floor mounted
fuel tank  may be utilized. If a top mounted fuel tank is utilized, the cap must be taped
down. If a floor mounted fuel tank is used, an auxiliary fuel pump and top plate with
associated fuel and pulse lines are allowed, and the fuel pump may be pulsed from the
engine side cover crankcase, or valve cover. 
22. An aftermarket flywheel is required.
23. Ultra-light flywheels are not allowed.
24. All items other than the ones specifically mentioned are to be stock OEM parts in OEM
locations.
25. 10.8 valve springs only.
26. Must run stock carburetor, boring of carburetor of any kind is not allowed. Holy Moses
carburetors are not allowed.
27. After market air filter is allowed.
28. Jets are a non-tech component.

29. The Tech Man may choose to do a tear-down of an engine to ensure legality after the
days races are finished for that kart. Engine owner must surrender his engine for tech. Tech
is performed to insure no illegal parts are in or on the engine. 
30. LARGE ZIP-TIE on spark plug wire (with end pointing UP) is recommended.

Outlaw Kart Ruls

Outlaw Karts

3. Cage: All of the following classes will be outfitted with a minimum four-point roll cage and
have a minimum of 3” head clearance. Cage can be bolted or welded to frame.
4. Wings: Required (outdoor) Not Required (indoor)
5. Wheels: Any 5”-6” diameter steel or aluminum wheels.
6. Brakes: Hydraulic disc is required and must stop kart in a safe distance at all times.
7. Weights:
   a. All weights should be painted white and have kart number on them for identification.
   b. All weight added to kart must be bolted.
8. Safety Belts: Minimum four-point safety belts attached to frame or roll cage.
9. Chain Guards are required – No exceptions

125CC OUTLAW CLASS
1. Age: 10-14 
2. Weight: 370 pounds
3. Engine:
   a. Single cylinder, two-cycle, single carburetor motorcycle, dirt bike, or quad engine not to
exceed 135cc displacement.
   b. Stock OEM stroke.
4. Tires: Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer
reading of 50 or above. 
5. No slipper clutches.
6. Wing: See General rules.
7. Exhaust: Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue.  The mufflers
must remain attached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must
remain intact and operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or
failures to operate, the kart must leave the track immediately.  Failure to leave the track
could results in disqualification.

250CC OUTLAW CLASS (250CC 2-STROKE)
1. Age: 12 to 16 or promoters discretion. 250 drivers CANNOT run Junior 1, 2 or 3. 250 drivers CAN run 125, junior mod, OI & Non-wing. If you have competed in 5 or more 250 races you CANNOT move back down.
2. Weight: 420 pounds
3. Engine:
   a. Single cylinder, two-cycle, single carburetor motorcycle, dirt bike, or quad engine not to
exceed 265cc displacement.
   b. Stock OEM stroke.
4. Tires: Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer
reading of 50 or above. 
5. No slipper clutches.
6. Wing: See General rules
7. Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue.  The mufflers must remain
attached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must remain intact
and operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or failures to
operate, the kart must leave the track immediately.  Failure to leave the track could results
in disqualification.
8. 250 drivers CAN run OI in 2 seperate cars. 250 drivers CANNOT run Open. 
(250F 4-STROKE)
1. Age: 12 to 16 or promoters discretion
2. Weight: 420 pounds
3. Engine:
   a. Single cylinder four-cycle motorcycle, dirt bike, or quad engine not to exceed 250cc
displacement.
   b. Stock OEM Stroke & Bore
   c. Cylinder bore must fall within parameters of OEM specifications.
   d. Must have stock stroke.

   e. No cutting or grinding of flywheel 
4. Fuel Delivery: Carburetor or fuel injection is legal, single carb only.
5. Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue.
6. Fuel: four-strokes must run AMA approved fuel or unleaded fuel

two-strokes can run 110 octane or C12
7. Tires: Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer
reading of 50 or above.
8. No slipper clutches
9. Wing: See General rules
10. Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue.  The mufflers must remain
attached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must remain intact
and operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or failures to
operate, the kart must leave the track immediately.  Failure to leave the track could results
in disqualification.

MOTORS ARE SUPPLEMTENTED TO TECH from track promoter.

Protest rule - to protest a motor you must have ran in the top 5, you have 10 minutes after the checkered flag drops to protest a motor. $750 to protest, if the motor is found illegal protester will recieve $500 back.

If motor is found to be legal owner of the motor will recieve $500 back.

OPEN INTERMEDIATE OUTLAW CLASS

1. Age: 12-18 or promoters discretion If you run OI you CANNOT run in the open class the only way to move to open is by winning the OI seasonal championship.

2. Weight: 430 pounds

3. Engine: Single cylinder two-cycle or four-cycle motorcycle, dirt bike, or quad engine 

a. two-cycle engines MUST have stock strok & 91mm max bore

b. four-cycle engines not exceed 450cc MUST have stock bore & stock stroke

4. Fuel Delivery: Carburetor or fuel injection is legal, single carb only.

Fuel: four-strokes must run AMA approved fuel or unleaded fuel

two-strokes can run 110 octane or C12

5. Tires: Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometerreading of 50 or above. 

6. No slipper clutches

7. Wing: See General rules 8. Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue.  The mufflers must remainattached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must remain intactand operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or failures tooperate, the kart must leave the track immediately.  Failure to leave the track could resultsin disqualification

8. you CANNOT run your 250 car in the OI class. Competitors in the OI class can run the 250 class in 2 seperate cars.

OPEN OUTLAW CLASS

1. Age: 16 & up or promoters discretion
2. Weight: 450 pounds
3. Engine: Single cylinder two-cycle or four-cycle motorcycle, dirt bike, or quad engine 
4. Fuel Delivery: Carburetor or fuel injection is legal, single carb only.

Fuel: four-strokes must run AMA approved fuel or unleaded fuel

two-strokes can run 110 octane or C12
5. Tires: Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer
reading of 50 or above.

Fuel: four-strokes must run AMA approved fuel or unleaded fuel

two-strokes can run 110 octane or C12

5. Tires: Must run a treaded RR tire stamped 50 or 55 and must punch at a durometer
reading of 50 or above.
6. No slipper clutches
7. MINIMUM OF 6 KARTS MUST BE ENTERED TO RUN THIS CLASS

attached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must remain intact
and operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or failures to

JUNIOR MODIFIED OUTLAWS
1. Age: 11-15

Weight: 375 pounds
2. Engine: Any commercial horizontal side shaft four cycle engine that started life no bigger
than 212cc. Any modifications allowed.
3. Fuel: Methanol or Gas NO NITRO
4. Exhaust: Any pipe allowed as long as it is not a safety issue. The mufflers must remain
attached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must remain intact
and operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or failures to
operate, the kart must leave the track immediately.  Failure to leave the track could results
in disqualification.
5. Clutch: Open
6. Tires: Open tire (any tire or compound)
7. Wing: See General rules

MUST HAVE 6 CARS ENTERED TO RUN THIS CLASS, after 2 weeks in a row with less then 6 cars this class will be cancelled!

ADULT CAGED MODIFIED OUTLAW 

Age: 16 & Up or track promoters discretion

Weight: 420 Pounds

Same motor rules as Junior Mod 
BOX STOCK GENERAL RULES:

1. Engine: 6.5 HP clone style OHV engine will follow AKRA Box Stock rules.
2. Fuel: 87 octane gas only – No additives
3. Exhaust: Open header and stock muffler per AKRA rules. The mufflers must remain
attached to the header at all times.  All muffler and header components must remain intact
and operating.  If the muffler becomes disconnected from the Header and/ or failures to
operate, the kart must leave the track immediately.  Failure to leave the track could results
in disqualification.
4. Clutch: Open.
5. Tires: Open tire – any tire or compound allowed.
6. In the event the AKRA rules conflict these rules, the Officials will resolve the conflict. If
your clone engine is legal to compete with American Kart Racing Association (AKRA)
classes, you will be legal to race at Outlaw Motorsports
7. Wing: Mandatory (outdoor) Optional (indoor)
JUNIOR – 1
1. Age: 5 to 8, When running Junior 1 you MUST only sign into Junior 1 or 2 (NOT Junior 3, NO exceptions)
2. Weight: 265lbs 
3. Restrictor Plate:  0.425”
4. Exhaust: see box stock general rules above
JUNIOR – 2
1. Age: 8 to 11, IF age allows you can run Junior 1 & 2 or Junior 2 & 3 but NOT all 3 junior classes. 
2. Weight: 285lbs
3. Restrictor Plate:  0.550”
4. Exhaust: see box stock general rules above
JUNIOR – 3
1. Age: 11 to 15, If age allows you can run Junior 2 & 3. If age allows you can run Junior Mod Outlaw & Junior 3 0r 125"s & Junior 3. (NOT 250, NO exceptions)
2. Weight: 320 pounds
3. Restrictor Plate: Un-restricted - No restrictor required
4. Exhaust: see box stock general rules above
YOUNG GUNS
1. Age: 4 to 6, When running Young Guns you MUST only sign in to Young Guns.
2. Weight: 250lbs
3. Engine: 6.5 HP clone style OHV engine will follow AKRA Box Stock rules.
4. Fuel: 87 octane gas only – No additives
5. Exhaust: Weenie pipe and muffler
6. Clutch: Open
7. Tires: Open tire – any tire or compound allowed.
8. In the event the AKRA rules conflict these rules, the Officials will resolve the conflict. If
your clone engine is legal to compete with American Kart Racing Association (AKRA)
classes, you will be legal to race at Outlaw Motorsports
9. Restrictor Plate: 0.375"
